Needs of traditional engineering
The beginnings of the Chropynska Slovakia a. s. history are connected with the needs of traditional engineering production in the former Czechoslovakia. In 1955, a separate division of tools production was established within the national enterprise Podpolianske strojárne /Engineering Works of Podpoľanie/. The first products of the division included final welding, machining, and clamping jigs used in manufacturing of construction machines. In the following decades, the tool production division contributed to the production of UN 053 loaders and the BVP-1 and BVP-2 armoured vehicles.
Plant 03 – Tools
In 1985, a significant expansion and transformation of the tool production division took place within Podpolianske strojárne, leading to “Plant 03 – Tools”.
Beginnings of external cooperation
The tools production plant expanded its operation outside Podpolianske strojárne. Bespoke clamping, machining, and welding jigs were designed and manufactured in cooperation with important producers of agricultural equipment .
ISO 9001:2015
The company became a holder of the ISO 9001:2015certificate of the system of quality management for “Design and production of special tools and technological equipment”.
Independent company
Under the parent company of PPS Detva Holding a.s., a separate subsidiary company PPS TSN s.r.o. was established, focusing on design and production of special tools and technological investment units. The company focused on providing sophisticated solutions to customers from Western Europe operating in the automotive industry (welding jigs and conveyors).
Entry of a foreign investor
In 2002, a foreign investor entered the company and became its majority shareholder. As part of the transformation, the legal form was changed to the joint-stock company PPS TSN a.s. After the entry of the new shareholder, a modern assembly hall was built together with an air-conditioned measuring centre.
Change of the company name
Change of the company’s business name to SLAVIA TOOLS a.s.
Automotive and rail industry
Thanks to cooperation with new customers, the company’s innovative and sophisticated solutions (in the form of clamping and welding jigs) found their application – in addition to the automotive industry – in the railway industry.
Aviation industry
The company established cooperation with major producers active in the aviation industry.
Entry of Chropyňská strojírna a.s.
A merger brings about a change in the ownership structure. Chropyňská strojírna a.s. becomes a 100% shareholder. The name of the company is changed to Slavia Production Systems a.s.
Significant modernization
Following substantial investments, the company’s machinery and technological equipment is modernized. For better processing of corporate data, the SAP ERP system is introduced. The design office also undergoes significant development.
New CNC machining center
A 13-metre long CNC machining centre is added to the technological equipment of the company.
Jigs for the US space program
In cooperation with German and Swiss business partners, the first jigs are handed over for the US space program.
ISO 14001:2015
The company becomes a holder of the ISO 14001:2015 certificate of the system of quality management for “Design and production of special tools and technological equipment”.
New paint shop
A two-chamber paint shop with controlled drying and filtered suction is put into operation.
Beginnings of dual education
The company enrolls in dual education system in order to make the existing practical training of pupils more effective. In cooperation with local primary schools and the Secondary Specialist Trade School in Detva, the first 7 pupils learning the trade of “Mechanic Adjuster” and “Mechanic Electrical Engineer” were given the opportunity to learn directly on the company’s premises.
Establishment of the “Vehicles” division
The company is awarded the EN 15085-2 CL2 certificate for rolling stock and components welding.
“Vehicles” division, dedicated to the serial production of welded and assembled assemblies, is created. A new educational workplace is created on the company premises, including 2 Heidelhain programming stations for practical training of 8 pupils.
